Dear All,

We are excited to introduce our first reading challenge in our new school!

Starting at 9:30am Monday, February 1st and ending at 3:00pm Sunday, February 28th we challenge you to read texts written by and about Black people in honour of Black History Month. As you finish each text please post a picture of the book on Instagram, write a few sentences explaining what it is about, what you liked about it or learnt from reading it, and include the hashtag #argylebhm.

The library will have a big display for you to get books from. You can also get resources from public libraries, read them online, or listen to them.

If you don't have an Instagram account, no problem. Just show us a picture of the book cover and bring in a copy of the written part and we will keep track for you.

There will be A LOT of prizes for:

~Top Student Readers

~Top Staff Readers

~Thoughtful Instagram posts

~As well as other prizes given throughout the reading challenge

If you have any questions please message Ms. Black on Teams or come visit the library.

We are looking forward to sharing 28 days of great reading!!

Thank you,

The Library
