Inquiry

The Inquiry section of this libguide provides simple step by step instructions for planning a unit of inquiry starting with concepts from the Ministry Big Ideas through to Essential Questions and ideas for assessing understanding.  The section on Inquiry also directs you to numerous practical and theoretical resources written by leading authors in the field.

Online Tools

The Online Tools Libguide provides links to online tools and software programs for a wide variety of learning styles and curricular goals. While there is an overwhelming array of online resources to support student learning, the hope is that the "Online Tools" guide can offer high quality choices that align with the SD44 guiding principle to provide continuity of educational opportunities for all secondary students. Most of the curated options are FREE, or free for the duration of school closures during COVID19.

Please check back often as the District Education Continuity Libguide is constantly evolving.  If there are some online tools that you recommend and would like to see added, please don't hesitate to contact AskALibrarian via Office 365 email to let us know!

MakerSpace

The Makerspace is a resource for everyone: K-12 students, district staff, and parents!  It's a space to both find and share maker and creation content.  Whether you need ideas for something to do, inspiration for a hands-on project, or the skills and guidance to try something new, this is the space for you.  The Makerspace is about creating community through making and sharing our creative content. Making and Maker-Centered Learning can take on many forms.  If you have something to share, we want to hear from you!  (Image by gfpeck CC BY-ND 2.0)
